Why Vogue Named This One of the Best Hair Serums
I’ll admit it: I definitely have a little Vogue habit. There’s nothing better than paging through a glossy magazine to discover the latest beauty and style trends — even if most of the inspiring outfits they share are way outside my budget!
Even if I’m mostly window shopping, Vogue is one of my favorite places to discover new beauty products that get the job done, which is why I was so excited by its latest find. In a new piece on hair serums, Vogue broke down why this trend is making waves in the world of holistic hair health and recommended 12 incredible serums for all hair types.
Why Hair Serums Are Important
These days, it seems like serums are everywhere. From skincare to tooth whitening, every corner of the beauty industry is all about the serum lifestyle these days — and the world of hair care is no exception.
If you want healthier hair, you need to take care of your follicles, the place where your strands get their start. According to Vogue, “ … to improve hair quality, you must work to reinvigorate and reawaken the follicle at the scalp — which is where hair serums come into play.”
But with so many serums on Vogue’s list, which one is the best? For me, it was an easy choice.
The Serum Vogue is Raving About
Because so much of the impact on hair health starts with flakiness or blocked follicles at the scalp, I opted to try the serum Vogue said is best for clarifying and reducing buildup.
Here’s what Vogue wrote about VEGAMOUR’s GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum:
“With VEGAMOUR’s detoxifying hair-treatment serum, expect a more balanced, buildup-free scalp powered by the brand’s proprietary vegan silk protein. Packed with willowherb extract, baobab and marula oils and fatty acids, the serum will leave your mane moisturized and protected too.”
All the experts agree that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp, and GRO Scalp Detoxifying Serum definitely delivers. Based on a powerful blend of minerals, powerful phyto-actives and vegan proteins, the active ingredients in this serum are designed to work together to support hair and scalp wellness. I loved the multi-pronged approach to supporting healthier hair on multiple fronts, which made me confident that this serum would get the job done.
So what’s in there, anyway? I took a closer peek at the ingredients list, and I definitely liked what I saw. The foundation of the serum is a vegan silk protein that works to gently rid your scalp of buildup and soothe damage while creating a protective layer, protecting your scalp from pollutants and locking moisture into your strands.
From there, the zinc in the serum reduces irritation and soaks up excess oil while helping your skin naturally self-moisturize. The serum also includes the ingredients Vogue shouted out, including willowherb to reduce flakiness and support a healthy scalp microbiome, and wild-harvested marula and baobab oils lend omega 6 and 9 fatty acids that create antioxidant support to protect, balance, and moisturize your scalp.
This serum is a powerhouse of scalp-healthy ingredients, so I was beyond excited to try it. Here’s what I discovered.
My Results
After using the VEGAMOUR scalp serum, I can definitely say that I agree with Vogue — this stuff provides the ultimate balancing act for my strands! I’ve definitely struggled with scalp flakiness in the past and was pleasantly surprised to find this serum cleared it right up. My scalp was free of follicle blockage, and my hair definitely looked and felt better for it!
Not only did it leave my scalp feeling soothed and moisturized, I definitely noticed an improvement in my new growth. My hair these days is noticeably thicker looking and seems to be growing more healthily than ever before. I’m so glad I gave Vogue’s recommendation a shot, and I would absolutely recommend that anyone else looking for a natural approach to a healthier scalp do the same!
